2008 A photo review

Well, 2008 is close to over. I thought I would share some memories from this year. This year included two trips to New York and Washington DC. One to LA and one to Las Vegas. For a sad reason it also included at trip to Tennessee. This year featured many good concerts and an historic election. It also featured a couple of friends leaving San Francisco.

I am looking forward to next year. I am hoping that the next election will not start next year. I am hoping that world finds a little forgiveness. I am also ready for this year to end.

I'm so bored with my generation

VH1 needs a little help but the show was awesome. It was even worth spending a weekend in LA. Not such a bad place, just not well thought out. The show was amazing even if it was a TV show. With a little imagination I could see what a Who show was like 40 years ago. Here is the set list

Foo Fighters --- Young Man Blues
Foo Fighters --- Bargain w/ supergrass singer
Flaming lips --- Tommy medely (Were not gonna take it,Pinball wizard etc)
Incubus ---- I Can See for Miles
Incubus ----- Can't Explain
Tenacious D --- Squeeze Box
Pearl Jam ---- Love Reign O'Me
Pearl Jam ---- Real Me
Adam Sandler --- Intro while playing chords to Magic Bus
The Who -- Baba O'Reily
The Who -- The seeker
The Who -- Who are You
The Who - Behind Blue Eyes
The Who --- 2000 Years
The Who -- You better you bet ( fubar) Pete's monitor died 3/4 throught
The Who -- You better You bet
The Who ---- My Generation
The Who --- Won't get fooled again /long live Rock
The Who --- Tea and Theater.

It was great. Pearl Jam rocked.

Bull Durham

I sitting here with a nice Remy Martin Sidecar watching Bull Durham because damn if it isn't Baseball season. I am all for the constitutional amendment banning Artificial Turf and the designated hitter. (not to mention Kevin Costner movies) I would like to add the wild card and playing games in cities without teams. If Tokyo has a team then they should get regular season baseball. I am all for foreign cities with Baseball teams. They might try a little harder than the Florida Marlins, Kansas City Royals or the Tampa Bay devil rays. (I know there just called Rays now but I still call the Washington Basketball team the Bullets.)

Enough of the BONDS bashing. They are all on steroids, speed or goat piss. Better living through chemistry is what most of us are doing.(insert viagra or prozac comercial) I know I have tried that on a few occasions. There just playing sports not starting idiotic wars and making pig latin seam like a real language.

Enough of my yaking on to the predictions.

AL East

This is a two team race unless Toronto gets lucky. Evil team A and Evil team B are going to monopolize this division for awhile. I going to take Real Madrid over Manchester United in this division. I am already tired of evil team B. Let's give Cubs fans a chance.

1. Evil Team A (Real Madrid)
2. Evil Team B (Manchester United)
3. Toronto Blue Jays
4. Does it really matter?
5. Team owned by one of the Anti-christs

AL Central.

I going with Cleveland in this division. I think they are going to have just enough to get by the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers don't have much of a bullpen. I don't care if Zumaya can throw 100mph. He still has to get it over the plate. The rest of division sucks so both teams will make the playoffs.

1. Cleveland
2. Detroit
3. Minnesota
4. Chicago
5. Kansas City

Al West

The I'm not sure where, Angels are the only team in this division. Everyone else is constantly rebuilding

1. Angels
2. Seattle
3. Texas
4. Oakland

NL East
I think Johan Santana will push the Mets over the top. The Phillies will try but come up short.

1. NY Mets
2. Philadelphia Phillies
3. Atlanta
4. Washington
5. Another team owned by the anti christ

NL Central.
Whoa this division smells.

1. Millwaukee Brewers ( finally rid of the anti christ)
2. Chicago Cubs
3. St Louis
4. who is in this division?
5. Pittsburgh Pirates
6. again who is in this division?

NL West.

This is the most interesting division. This is division with the four of the best rotations. Too bad les gigantes could hit water if they fell out of a boat. (sorry bad pun). I thinks this going to come down to whether the Padres can score enough runs to beat the Diamondbucks

1. Arizona Diamondbacks
2. San Diego Padres
3. Some team from southern california
4. Colorado Rockies
5. The unwatchable Giants (at least when Cain and Lincecum aren't ptiching)

Who will lose a hundred this year?
My bet is on the Giants and Orioles to lose a hundred.

"Ever heard of Walt Whitman?'
What team does he play for?"

"Blades of grass my ass" Homer Simpson
